Why I joined SHPE:
I joined SHPE for the familia I was able to find on my first day. I have met great friends and mentors which allowed me to find a strong sense of belonging. Now it's my turn to give back to the bright cohorts of SHPE members coming after me!
Favorite SHPE Memory:
My favorite SHPE memory has been E-Week 2023 when my friends and I went to Houston for e-week challenges. It was a super fun weekend with lots of great memories that I will cherish forever for years to come.

Why I joined SHPE:
I joined SHPE because I missed being around Hispanic culture. Growing up in a border town, I was in a bubble. Once I got to UT, it was both intimidating and amazing being around so many different people and cultures. Although I was learning and experiencing so much, I quickly realized I missed the feeling of community.
Favorite SHPE Memory:
My favorite SHPE memory is the fall LeaderSHPE retreat. Not only was it great getting to know my fellow LeaderSHPE members, but I made friends out of all of them. Playing games, joking around, and making family meals brought us all really close together. Having a moment to slow down and bond with everyone outside of school was really special.
